Plastics & Construction and Demolition Wastes utilization in hot asphalt mixtures for paving urban roads/pavements
The massive scale production of plastics and the constantly increased use of plastic products worldwide has placed the disposal of plastic wastes into a serious environmental problem. In addition, the growth of construction industry has led to considerable increased generation of Construction and Demolition Wastes which is considered to be an unsustainable activity that causes serious deterioration of the environment.
AMS performs research on the utilization of plastic wastes as well as of the Construction and Demolition Wastes (CDW) as ingredients in hot asphaltic mixtures for paving urban roads and pavements. This research aims to mitigate the environmental impact that comes from the inadequate and uncontrolled disposal of those waste materials.
