Additive Manufacturing

AMSolutions in order to cover the existing gap in the 3D printing raw materials, is developing a new generation of “Smart 3D materials”, exploiting the already obtained nanotechnology know-how providing additional properties with the use of inorganic nanoparticles and/or industrial sub products to the existing or novel 3D materials.

The aim is to:

-Increase their mechanical & their thermal properties
-Decrease the UV side-effect which deteriorates the plastics during time
-Eliminate the VOC effect avoiding organic volatiles to gradually decompose plastics
-Provide new properties either to surface or to the core of the materials: waterproofing, anti-bacterial, antistatic, self-cleaning etc.

Currently, we own a full range of industrial 3D printers implementing the most of the existing technologies (FFF, SLA, DLP) up to 800×800 mm of a single 3D printing object, while a new range of experimental 3D printers under the name “ATLAS” has been recently launched.

What is 3D Printing

3D printing, also known as additive manufacturing (AM), refers to various processes that build 3D objects by adding layer-upon-layer of material, whether the material is plastic, metal, concrete or one day…..human tissue. These objects can be of any shape or geometry, taking into consideration the laws of physics, and are produced from 3D model or other electronic data source.

Benefits of 3D Printing in Prototyping

– Cost efficient as compared to traditional manufacturing technique
– Allows for easy yet inexpensive innovation in design
– Better simulation and optimization before the production
– Less time of implementation
– Smaller  amount of waste higher precision with layer by layer manufacturing
– 3D  printing manufacturing method can create special form that traditional manufacturing cant

Loop-3d

Design

Our designers will convert the specific concepts to 3D format suitable for 3D engineering printing, e.g . obj, .stl, or .3mf type  of files.

Optimization

3D models optimization through modeling and simulation to improve properties and efficiency. The sophisticated capabilities of the enhanced 3D modeling will be combined with engineering and designed practices in order to identify and correct the inefficiencies of the 3D models in terms of both material selection and engineering design, producing more performance efficient and long lasting components.

3D printing

3D printing real scale models ready for testing in actual environment, without any additional processing. Component molds might be developed by 3D printing in order to produce components with extreme requirements in both engineering and mechanical properties. As each material has different characteristics and properties, in order to 3D print it properly, the experienced personnel of AMS will select the correct 3D printing technology and 3D printer.

Testing/Evaluation

Visual and microscopic inspection of printed models is the key process in identifying defects and errors. Through rigorous testing protocols each printed object is developed to the required specifications.
