The 8th TransZeroWaste Consortium Meeting took place on 20–21 May in Athens, Greece, bringing together project partners for two days of updates, technical discussions, coordination activities and exchange on the next steps of the project.
The meeting was hosted at the Stratos Vassilikos Hotel and welcomed both physical and online participants, ensuring full involvement of the consortium across the different Work Packages.
The first day opened with a welcome session, a roundtable discussion, followed by detailed progress updates on the project’s core technical activities. Partners discussed the latest developments in WP4 Hydrometallurgical Treatment, WP2 Cold Pelletising/Briquetting, WP3 Hot Pelletisation using microwave technology, and WP5 LCA/LCC/Circularity Assessment. The day also included an overview of the overall project progress and a dedicated session on project coordination status.
The second day focused on WP6 Dissemination, where partners reviewed the project’s communication and dissemination progress, discussed ongoing activities and exchanged views on upcoming actions. Additional coordination topics were also addressed, including updates related to the submitted periodic report and the Grant Agreement amendment request.
The meeting provided an important opportunity for the consortium to align on technical progress, review administrative and coordination matters, and strengthen collaboration among partners. It also supported a shared understanding of the project’s next priorities as TransZeroWaste continues its work towards more sustainable, circular and low-CO₂ steelmaking processes.
The consortium meeting concluded with wrap-up remarks and an optional visit of Athens, offering partners the chance to continue informal exchanges beyond the meeting sessions.
